Common questions

A word I know isn’t being accepted. Pangrammy’s word list comes from ENABLE, a public-domain English word list. It’s a good list, but not a perfect one — a handful of valid words are missing and a few unusual ones are in. Send me the word and I’ll take a look.

What do the difficulty settings change? Only how common the words need to be. The letters stay the same on all three settings — Hard just expects you to find more obscure words. Word commonness comes from a dataset built on film and TV subtitles, so it reflects how often words actually get used rather than how often they appear in print.

How does the daily puzzle work? Everyone gets the same seven letters each day, and it resets at midnight in your local time zone.

What’s a “perfect” pangram? A word that uses each of the seven letters exactly once, with no repeats. Those are worth double.

Will my progress transfer to a new phone? Not right now. Everything is stored on your device, and there’s no account or sync, so a new phone starts fresh.

Does Pangrammy collect any data? No. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics, no ads. See the privacy policy for the details.
